The Paulding County Patriots's five-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. They came out on top against East Paulding by a score of 64-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Paulding County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was George Shumpert out in front who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Shumpert has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jerron Wilson, who scored 22 points.
Paulding County's win bumped their record up to 6-12. As for East Paulding, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.
Paulding County will be playing in front of their home fans against Langston Hughes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Langston Hughes presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Paulding County in Georgia (Langston Hughes is ranked 25th, while Paulding County is ranked 261st). As for East Paulding, they will head out on the road to face off against Newnan at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Newnan is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
