The San Luis Obispo Tigers will take on the Nipomo Titans at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (San Luis Obispo 3.9, Nipomo 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
San Luis Obispo fell victim to Kingsburg and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 6-0 to the Vikings. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Tigers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

San Luis Obispo saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kailani Howard, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Howard has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played.
Meanwhile, Nipomo came tearing into Tuesday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 17-1 margin over the Saints. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won six games by ten runs or more so far this season.
Alyssa Van Muysen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Van Muysen was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Vivianne Goss, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Arianna Lanier, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Nipomo's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for San Luis Obispo, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6-1.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. San Luis Obispo hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .406. However, it's not like Nipomo struggles in that department as they've averaged .364. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
San Luis Obispo might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from Nipomo in their previous meeting on April 1st. Will the Tigers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
