Lone Peak (Highland, Utah) came into Saturday's contest ranked No. 11 in Utah, but was stunned by
Herriman (West Herriman, Utah), 29-21. Herriman was ranked at No. 17 in the MaxPreps Freeman Rankings for Utah coming into the week.
The Knights pulled ahead on a
Baron GAJKOWSKI touchdown pass to
Dylan MURDOCK, and subsequently went into halftime leading 14-7. The Mustangs scored the winning points with a safety that came in the third quarter.
Herriman was ahead by as much as nine before Lone Peak pulled closer.
The victory was a step in the right direction for HHS, which was coming off a 7-3 defeat at the hands of Highland in its previous game. The defeat comes as a step back for Lone Peak, which notched a 48-10 victory over Mullen in its previous outing. The win broke Herriman's two-game losing streak.
