Durham Academy posted their biggest win since December 28, 2024 on Friday. They put the hurt on the Cary Academy Chargers with a sharp 70-46 victory. The Cavaliers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 24 points or more this season.

Joshua Dorsette II went supernova for Durham Academy, going 8 of 13 on his way to 21 points. The dominant performance gave Dorsette II a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of JJ Wilcox, who went 6 for 9 en route to 12 points and eight rebounds.

Durham Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cary Academy only racked up eight assists.

Cary Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aidan Rousseau, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 boards. Rousseau has been hot, having posted nine or more rebounds the last six times he's played. Julian Tweedy was another key player, putting up eight points and nine boards.

The win snapped Durham Academy's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 14-8 record. As for Cary Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-10.

Durham Academy has already played their next game (against North Raleigh Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Cary Academy is taking a road trip to square off against Ravenscroft at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
