The Turlock Christian Eagles struggled with assists on Tuesday (the Stone Ridge Christian Knights had 24 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Turlock Christian had to suffer through a rough 81-52 loss at the hands of Stone Ridge Christian. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Turlock Christian in their matchups with Stone Ridge Christian: they've now lost four in a row.
Turlock Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ben Bylsma, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Michael Miller, who scored eight points along with four steals.
Daijon O?neil was his usual excellent self, scoring 27 points along with six assists and five steals for Stone Ridge Christian. The game was O?neil's 16th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Agueda, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Turlock Christian's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 4-10. As for Stone Ridge Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Turlock Christian will challenge Millennium at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Millennium is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. Stone Ridge Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Westlake Charter at 7:00 p.m. on January 10th. Hopefully Westlake Charter focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday.
