The Greencastle Tiger Cubs's game on Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They greeted the New Year with with a 41-26 victory over Cloverdale. That's another feather in the cap for Greencastle, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Greencastle to victory, but perhaps none more so than Evelyn Briones, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. The matchup was Briones' fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Brown, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.
Greencastle pushed their record up to 7-11 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Cloverdale, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greencastle will take on North Montgomery at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cloverdale, they will stay at home for another game and welcome West Vigo at 6:30 p.m. on January 9th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (West Vigo is ranked 400th, while Cloverdale is ranked 403rd).
