Softball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for Newsome

Newsome won the last time they faced Robinson and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Wolves never let the Knights get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolves.

Allyson Conner looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 19 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Sarai Nicholas was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Mariah Harrelson, who earned one run and two stolen bases.

Newsome hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Robinson struck out eight times.

Newsome's record is now 19-5. As for Robinson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.

Newsome does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Robinson, they will challenge Academy of the Holy Names at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Jaguars will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight.
