The biggest upset of the week belonged to Ruleville Central, who took down 179th ranked Leflore County, 26-20.
Velma Jackson's Emanuel Ross recorded the longest rushing play in 3A Region 4 this season in his game against Leland last week. Ross' team bested the Cubs as he sprinted for 68 yards on the play and finished with 179 in all.
East Side's dynamic duo of Jonathan Clerk-Beamon and Kamien Lucas proved tough for McClain to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Clerk-Beamon threw for 147 yards and one touchdown and Lucas had 54 yards receiving. Brandt Williams helped East Side's passing attack out by catching three balls for 46 yards.
The Tigers' Grant Simms and Devante Crow have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Simms has thrown for 1349 yards this season, while Crow has 26 catches for 648 yards. Quadre Butler from the Trojans leads the league in rushing with 1195 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Tigers take on East Side. Ruleville Central is in fifth place, while Roger Burton's team is in first place.
The Trojans extended the longest winning streak in 3A Region 4 this week by beating the Mustangs, 24-8. The victory was the ninth in a row for East Side.
