The Ridgevue Warhawks came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past Emmett with points to spare, taking the game 55-37. Ridgevue pushed the score to 46-22 by the end of the third, a deficit Emmett cut but never quite recovered from.
Ridgevue can attribute much of their success to Jacotah Thomas, who scored ten points along with four steals. Mckenna Durrant was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds.
Despite the loss, Emmett still got an impressive performance from Natalie Goslin, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. That was a full 37.8% of Emmett's points, marking the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Ryllie Smith, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Ridgevue has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for Emmett, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.
Ridgevue's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Caldwell at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th. Caldwell is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Emmett, they will head out on the road to square off against Canyon Ridge at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Canyon Ridge has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 5.
