On the hitting side, Aubrey Stephens and Anna Soos did most of the damage at the plate: Stephens got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four RBI and one run, while Soos scored three runs while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Layla Williams, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Elyria Catholic ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Norwalk 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since April 18, 2024.
Harper Morgan spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high.
At the plate, Lillian Ciryak was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one RBI. Paytin Baehr was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run.
Elyria Catholic's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average this season. As for Holy Name, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.
Monday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Holy Name hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .355. However, it's not like Elyria Catholic struggles in that department as they've averaged .370. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
