The Taft Toreadors will head out on the road to face off against the Poly Parrots at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Taft is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
Taft is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They came out on top against Wilson by a score of 10-7. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Toreadors.

Poly not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 18th (when they won 14-2). They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over South Gate.
Like Taft, Poly also got a great game from a two-way player: ISABELLA NAVARRO. She pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off nine hits. NAVARRO was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, ANGELINA FREDRICK was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. BRENDA ORTIZ was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Taft's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's contest. The Toreadors have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Poly, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Taft continue to outrun the ball?
Taft might still be hurting after the 9-3 defeat they got from Poly in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Toreadors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
