Baseball Game Preview: Tulia Hornets vs. Childress Bobcats

Tulia hasn't had much luck against Childress recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Tulia Hornets will square off against the Childress Bobcats at 12:00 p.m. Tulia will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.

Tulia will bounce into Saturday's contest after beating River Road, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Tulia blew past River Road 11-1 on Tuesday. The Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

Tulia got a massive performance out of Jacob Trevino, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-4. Those three stolen bases gave Trevino a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of David Molina, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one triple.

Tulia was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as River Road only posted a batting average of .118.

Meanwhile, Childress came up short against Bushland on Tuesday, falling 12-5. The Bobcats have struggled against the Falcons recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meetings.

Childress saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Drake Rabe, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Tulia's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.2 runs. As for Childress, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Tulia suffered a grim 16-6 defeat to Childress in their previous meeting back in March of 2022. Can Tulia avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
