Softball Recap: Pewaukee Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Pewaukee had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Campbellsport Cougars as they made off with an 8-2 win. Considering the Pirates have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Samantha Brewster spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Pewaukee got a massive performance out of Estella Levas, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was Levas' first of the season. Another player making a difference was Hailey Hutchens, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double.

Pewaukee hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least one batters in three consecutive games.

Pewaukee pushed their record up to 11-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Campbellsport, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pewaukee will take on Brookfield Central at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Campbellsport, they will venture away from home to face off against St. Mary's Springs at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
