Basketball Recap: Friday's Win Is Torrington's Seventh in Last Nine Outings

Torrington won the last time they faced Watertown and things went their way on Friday too. The Torrington Raiders managed a 53-47 victory over the Watertown Warriors. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Raiders.

Adi Puskarevic was his usual excellent self, going 8 for 11 on his way to 17 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Logan Tucciarone, who posted seven points and six boards.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Christopher O'Toole, who scored 13 points and three steals. Johnathan Platt was another key player, putting up ten points and five rebounds.

Torrington is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Watertown, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-7.

Torrington will challenge Wilby at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Torrington is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.4 points per game this season. As for Watertown, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 63-49 defeat against Lakeview on the 3rd.
