The Chavez Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Arleta Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Chavez has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 30.
Chavez suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They were outmatched by Verdugo Hills on the road and fell 83-30. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Chavez in their matchups with Verdugo Hills: they've now lost seven in a row.
Meanwhile, Arleta pushed their score all the way to 66 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Grant 71-66. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Monday (63), Arleta still had to take the loss.
Chavez bumped their record down to 2-10 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Arleta, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-7.
Chavez suffered a grim 81-58 defeat to Arleta in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Thankfully for Chavez, Marcus Orduno (who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and five steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
