Strawberry Crest is 0-4 against Palm Harbor University since October of 2015 but things could change on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:30 p.m.
Last Thursday, Strawberry Crest came up short against Sunlake and fell 3-1.
While Strawberry Crest ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-17, 21-25, 25-18.
Despite the loss, Strawberry Crest saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Alyssa Miller had 11 digs and three aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Haley Kang, who had ten digs.
Meanwhile, Palm Harbor University had already won six in a row and they went ahead and made it seven on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Green Devils by a score of 3-1.
Palm Harbor University walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the fourth set). The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-20, 23-25, 25-11.
Strawberry Crest's defeat dropped their record down to 12-14. As for Palm Harbor University, their victory bumped their record up to 19-6.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's match: Strawberry Crest has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6.8 aces per game. However, it's not like Palm Harbor University struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.2 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Strawberry Crest might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Palm Harbor University in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Chargers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
