Crystal City waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They strolled past the Martin Tigers with points to spare, taking the game 49-33. This was payback for the Javelinas, who suffered a 36-24 loss the last time these two teams met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Crystal City to victory, but perhaps none more so than Riyannah Mena, who shot 4-for-7 from deep and dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Mena continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Breana Hernandez, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 rebounds.

Crystal City smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Martin's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aleida Perez, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards. Maria Manrique was another key player, putting up seven points along with six boards and three steals.

Crystal City's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Martin, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-6.

Crystal City wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 58-44 defeat against Gregory-Portland on the 5th. As for Martin, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 74-33 loss against United on the 5th.
