The biggest upset of the week belonged to Casa Roble, who took down 362nd ranked Casa Roble, 31-30. Austin Harmer threw for 96 yards and one touchdown and ran for 76 yards in the win.
Del Campo extended the longest winning streak in Capital Valley this week by beating Oakmont, 52-27. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Cougars.
Peyton Wilfley put up the best numbers through the air as the Rams lost to Bella Vista. He finished with a total of 13 completions for 222 yards and four touchdowns. Wilfley's favorite target this week was Jake Romine, who caught six passes for 120 yards.
Taylor Laird provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Vikings fell to Del Campo. He completed 13 passes for 235 yards and three touchdowns and also ran for 62 yards. Laird's favorite target this week was Issac Thornton, who caught three passes for 120 yards.
Marcel Brown was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 204 yards on 23 carries as Rio Linda lost to Mike Dimino's team. Teammate Leonard Skattebo added to the ground attack by rushing for 95 yards.
Tim Moore's team's Laird and Justin Holmes have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Laird has thrown for 1220 yards this season, while Holmes, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 35 catches for 573 yards. Brown from the Knights leads the league in rushing with 1065 yards.
A big matchup in Capital Valley this week will be when the Cougars take on Christian Brothers. Del Campo is currently in second, while the Falcons are in third.
The Broncos moved up to 504 from 592 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Bella Vista was able to make the jump by beating Casa Roble 31-30.
