The Trinity Trojans entered their tilt with the Africentric Early College Nubians with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Trinity walked away with a 53-43 victory over Africentric Early College on Saturday. Given Trinity's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 254th, while Africentric Early College is ranked 558th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Cooper Hughes, who scored 17 points along with five assists and five rebounds. The matchup was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. Dante Kimble III was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Trinity pushed their record up to 3-2 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Africentric Early College, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
Trinity will head out on the road to face off against Mars at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Africentric Early College will be home for the holidays to greet Independence at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Independence focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday.
