Laguna Beach moved up to 332 from 411 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Orange Coast. The Breakers were able to make the jump by beating St. Margaret's 31-17.
Laguna Beach made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,978 from 5,204. The improvement came about via a 31-17 victory over the Tartans last week.
Michael Churchill's team's dynamic duo of Larry Stewart and Robert Clemons III proved tough for St. Margaret's to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Stewart threw for 103 yards and three touchdowns and Clemons III had 70 yards receiving. Dylan Hunter helped Laguna Beach's passing attack out by catching one ball for 22 yards.
EDDIE ARVEZU was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 160 yards on 10 carries as Saddleback defeated Rod Baltau's team. CHRISTIAN FARIAS also contributed to the rushing game with 129 yards on the ground.
6-foot-3 quarterback Colin Kearon of Calvary Chapel is the league leader in passing yards this season with 543. He has also thrown five touchdowns. On the ground, Laguna Beach's Drake Martinez has rushed for 422 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Markiece Traylor. The Costa Mesa star has 17 catches for 280 yards.
The Roadrunners led Orange Coast in scoring this week after putting up 35 points on Century. ARVEZU in the win.
