The Wahama White Falcons will face off against the St. Marys Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Wahama 3.7, St. Marys 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Wahama barely beat Ripley the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The White Falcons were the clear victors by an 18-1 margin over the Vikings on Wednesday. The White Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by eight runs or more this season.
Elissa Hoffman made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Hoffman was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kalyn Christian, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Audrey Reynolds was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Wahama kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, St. Marys entered their tilt with Parkersburg on Thursday with nine consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with ten. They skirted past the Big Reds 7-5.
Ella Bullman was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Winland, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run.
St. Marys pushed their record up to 21-4 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Wahama, their win bumped their record up to 19-4.
Both Wahama and St. Marys just can't seem to miss. The White Falcons have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.1 hits per game. However, it's not like St. Marys struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Wahama might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from St. Marys when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the White Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
