Atlantic is 0-6 against Mount Dora since March of 2023 but things could change on Tuesday. The Sharks will be taking part in a tournament against the Canes at 4:30 p.m. Atlantic is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.
Atlantic will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating New Smyrna Beach, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. The Sharks never let the Barracudas get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Sharks considering their two-run performance the matchup before.
Nicolas Lutton looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Atlantic is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-11 otherwise.

At the plate, Josiah Perez was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Cameron Mcarthur was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Atlantic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Mount Dora came tearing into Thursday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Bulldogs. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Canes have posted against the Bulldogs since March 31, 2022.
Charlie Antunez looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Mount Dora saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brady Smith, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.
Atlantic's victory bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Mount Dora, their win bumped their record up to 13-7.
