Manitowoc Lincoln posted their closest victory since August 30th on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Brookfield Central Lancers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Ships also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2023.

Brookfield Central's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Rachel Hoerig, who had five digs and three aces, and Carolyn Gauntt, who had three digs and two aces. Gauntt has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last three times she's played.

Manitowoc Lincoln is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-10 record this season. As for Brookfield Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season.

Manitowoc Lincoln is taking a road trip to challenge West De Pere at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Brookfield Central, they have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Appleton North on the 27th.
