Liberty Ranch has gone a perfect 10-0 against Bradshaw Christian recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Hawks will venture away from home to square off against the Pride at 4:00 p.m. Liberty Ranch is coming into the match hot, having won their last eight games.
Liberty Ranch came out on top against Rosemont on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run second inning. The Hawks put the hurt on the Wolverines with a sharp 12-1 win. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by nine runs or more this season.
Laura Quinn tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Liberty Ranch got a massive performance out of Bella Granata, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Xiana Juarez, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Liberty Ranch was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .423 or higher in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Bradshaw Christian fell victim to El Dorado and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars. The Pride have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Bradshaw Christian saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bella Wainscott, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base. Avery Slater was another, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases.
Liberty Ranch pushed their record up to 14-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Bradshaw Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11-1.
Everything went Liberty Ranch's way against Bradshaw Christian when the teams last played back in April, as Liberty Ranch made off with an 11-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
