Softball Recap: Central's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Central gave up the first runs on Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. Everything went their way against the Port St. Lucie Jaguars as they made off with a 21-6 win. Considering the Cobras have won six matchups by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on DESTINY BRANDENBURG, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and four runs. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. ASPEN THOMAS was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Central's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-12. As for Port St. Lucie, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-11-1.

Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Port St. Lucie, they will be playing at home against Westwood at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.29 runs per game on average), something the Jaguars will no doubt try to take advantage of.
