After a string of three wins, the Hugoton Eagles's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 48-47 to Life Prep. Hugoton was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Life Prep apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Life Prep got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Piotr Luczak out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. Marcian Pickstock was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Hugoton's loss dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Life Prep, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.
Hugoton will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Southwestern Heights at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th. Life Prep is on the road again on Thursday and play against Roosevelt at 5:30 p.m. on December 7th.
