Judge Memorial Catholic hasn't had much luck against Summit Academy recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will challenge the Bears at 3:30 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Judge Memorial Catholic took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Providence Hall 14-13. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since March 12th.

Dominic Fassio made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Judge Memorial Catholic is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-10 otherwise. Fassio was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kohl Donelson, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Ibarra, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Judge Memorial Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .632. They are 3-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Summit Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Judge Memorial Catholic 5-4.
Like Judge Memorial Catholic, Summit Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Cooper Derbidge. On the mound, he struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off eight hits. Derbidge has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Eli Mukhar was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.
The win snapped Judge Memorial Catholic's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-11 record. As for Summit Academy, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-10.
