The Silver Valley Trojans will head out to square off against the University Prep Jaguars at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Silver Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully University Prep likes a good challenge.
Silver Valley will head out to face University Prep after giving up their first home loss of the season on Friday. Silver Valley fell 67-56 to Big Bear. While the Trojans didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bears 16-10 in the first quarter.

Silver Valley might have lost, but man, Jasean Phillips was a machine: he went 10 for 22 en route to 23 points along with eight boards and five steals. The contest was Phillips' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Judah Caldwell was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Silver Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in six consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, University Prep hadn't done well against Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. University Prep took down Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy 61-45.
University Prep found their leader in freshman DONALD McFARLIN, who posted 28 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points McFARLIN has scored all season. Another player making a difference was BRANDON MARTINEZ, who earned eight points in addition to eight boards and seven blocks.
University Prep has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Silver Valley, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-7.
Everything came up roses for Silver Valley against University Prep in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 69-30 win. In that contest, Silver Valley amassed a halftime lead of 39-16, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
