The Hancock Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Bishop Walsh, falling 51-22. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Hancock of the 56-32 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2020.
Despite the loss, Hancock still got an impressive performance from Skylar Smith, who scored 11 points along with three steals and two blocks. That was a full 50% of Hancock's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Hancock's defeat was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Bishop Walsh, their victory bumped their record up to 4-10.
Hancock didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 38-35 loss vs. Faith Christian Academy on the 8th. Bishop Walsh has also already played their next contest, a 49-38 loss against Northern on the 7th.
