The Covenant Christian Academy Golden Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 68-49 to Christ Chapel Academy.
Gabriel Marvin and Brandon Alibaruho certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Marvin scored 14 points, while Alibaruho scored 11 points. Caden Wilson was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
David Neaves continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Christ Chapel Academy, scoring 33 points along with two steals. That's the first time this season that Neaves grabbed two or more steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Barnes, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Covenant Christian Academy has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Christ Chapel Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 3-8 record this season.
Covenant Christian Academy will face off against Evergreen Christian at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. Evergreen Christian is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road. As for Christ Chapel Academy, they will challenge Trinity at Meadow View at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Trinity at Meadow View is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
