After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Brearley, Plainfield was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Everything went their way against the Perth Amboy Vo-Tech Patriots as they made off with a 13-6 victory. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Duanel Alvarado, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Rhuell Morel, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Plainfield's win bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Perth Amboy Vo-Tech, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-14.

Coming up, Plainfield will be playing at home against Hillside at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Perth Amboy Vo-Tech, they will square off against Timothy Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Timothy Christian has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.58 runs per game on average), something Perth Amboy Vo-Tech will no doubt try to take advantage of.
