This season hasn't been kind to the Fairview Tigers, who are still winless after their fourth game. They were outmatched by Warren at home and fell 78-51. Fairview was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-20.
Fairview's loss on Friday came despite strong showings from Archie Murphey and Tyler DiVecchio. Murphey scored 15 points, while DiVecchio scored ten points. That's the first time this season that Murphey scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Patrick Stafford, who scored four points.
Warren had a senior duo take command as Braylon Barnes scored 29 points along with five rebounds and Brady Berdine scored 18 points along with eight steals and seven rebounds. The game was Barnes' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tommy Nyquist, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Fairview's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-4. As for Warren, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Fairview will be home for the holidays to greet Sharon at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sharon knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully Fairview likes a good challenge. As for Warren, they will head out on the road to face off against Bradford at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Bradford will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 344th, while Warren is ranked 60th).
