The Fort Scott Tigers''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Saint Thomas Aquinas, falling 41-14. While losing is never fun, Fort Scott can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas football rankings (they are ranked 116th, while Saint Thomas Aquinas is ranked seventh).
Leading Saint Thomas Aquinas to victory were Cole Richardson and Elzie Slaughter. Richardson rushed for 106 yards on only 14 carries, while Slaughter rushed for 98 yards on only six carries.
Fort Scott has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Saint Thomas Aquinas, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.
Fort Scott does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Saint Thomas Aquinas will head out on the road to face off against Bishop Miege at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bishop Miege will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
