On Monday Newmarket's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came within a single  run of losing the streak, but they secured  a   6-5 W against the Mascenic Regional Vikings. That's two games straight that the Mules have won by  just one  run.
 Kierra Souphakhot made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only two  hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  a single  earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances with one  run and one  RBI.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Hannah Chesley, who  got on base  in two of her four plate appearances with two  stolen bases and two  runs. Another player making a difference was  Jadynn Rajda, who  went 1-for-3 with two  RBI and one  double.

Newmarket pushed their record up to 7-0 with the  victory, which was their 11th straight  on the road dating back to last season. The  road  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 15.1 runs over those games. As for Mascenic Regional, they moved to 4-2 with that  loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
