The Germantown Mavericks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 25 points or more this season. They blew past Yazoo County, posting a 69-27 win on the road. With that win, Germantown brought their scoring average up to 51.1 points per game.
It was another big night for Alana Rouser, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Williams, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
Germantown's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Yazoo County, their loss dropped their record down to 12-6.
Germantown will be playing in front of their home fans against Starkville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Starkville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Thursday. As for Yazoo County, they will head out on the road to face off against Winona at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Winona will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while Yazoo County is ranked 64th).
