The Live Oak Classical Falcons will be playing at home against the Concordia Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Live Oak Classical has five straight victories, Concordia has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Live Oak Classical can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent match two weeks ago. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 54-6 victory over Holy Trinity Catholic. Given Live Oak Classical's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 78th, while Holy Trinity Catholic is ranked 230th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Concordia pushed their score all the way to 54 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Holy Trinity Catholic by a score of 57-54. Despite running the score up even higher than they did two weeks ago (36), Concordia still had to take the loss.
Alexander Jones put forth a good effort for the losing side as he threw for 333 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 11.9 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 153 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Jones hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for nine straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Wolfmueller, who gained 169 total yards and three touchdowns.
Live Oak Classical's win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 6-3. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 32 points. As for Concordia, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Live Oak Classical against Concordia in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 as the team secured a 54-8 victory. Does Live Oak Classical have another victory up their sleeve, or will Concordia turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
