HILMAR, Calif. - A big 35-point first quarter helped carry the Yellowjackets to a 49-6 victory over Riverbank (Calif.) on Saturday.
Hilmar scored on a touchdown catch by
Tyler Robinson, a
Jonathan O'Brien touchdown pass to Robinson, a touchdown pass by O'Brien to
Trent Orosco, a touchdown run by
Kris Camden and a O'Brien touchdown pass to Orosco in the quarter.
After taking the lead on a touchdown in the first quarter, HHS was up 42-0 at the half.
The Yellowjackets expanded their lead to 43 points entering the fourth quarter. Hilmar's lone score in the quarter came on a passing touchdown.
With the win HHS extended its winning streak to seven games. Hilmar defeated Orestimba 49-6 last week.
Riverbank's only touchdown came on a run in the third quarter.
The Yellowjackets had given up an average of 7.5 points prior to the contest. Riverbank's six points were well below their season average of 23.8 per game.
The loss was the fourth in a row for Riverbank.
In a Trans Valley League game next week Hilmar (7-0) takes on Ripon, and Riverbank (2-4) will go up against Modesto Christian also in a Trans Valley League game.
