East Sequoia recap October 1, 2013
Lindsay scaled the state rankings by moving to 286 from 334 this week, the biggest jump in East Sequoia. The Cardinals were able to move up by defeating Fowler 44-7.
Lindsay took down the Redcats 44-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Alex Jara threw for 308 yards and 3 touchdowns in the win.
Elijah Cunningham was a beast in the backfield as Woodlake defeated Orosi.
He was 18-25 with 2 interceptions.
Marcos Beltran made the biggest impact on defense this week as Granite Hills fell to Immanuel. The 5-foot-8 defensive lineman.
Cunningham was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 238 yards on 28 carries as the Tigers topped Fowler. John Kulick also contributed to the rushing game with 100 yards on the ground.
The Cardinals' Jara and Gaven Mann led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Jara has thrown for 1,027 yards this season, while Mann has 22 catches for 404 yards. Cunningham from Woodlake leads the league in rushing with 1,001 yards.
Lindsay led East Sequoia in scoring this week by notching 44 points on Steve Nelson's team. Jara during the win.
