The Jefferson Blue Jays will head out on the road to take on the Windsor Owls at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Jefferson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Thursday.
After a string of four wins, Jefferson's good fortune finally ran out. The game between Jefferson and Perryville wasn't particularly close, with Jefferson falling 52-38. Jefferson has struggled against Perryville recently, as their contest on Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Jefferson had strong showings from Megan Wood, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds, and Peyton Guffey, who scored seven points. Wood is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played.
Meanwhile, Windsor's recent rough patch got a bit rougher back in December of 2023 after their third straight loss. They took a 48-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hillsboro. While losing is never fun, Windsor can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 328th, while Hillsboro is ranked 80th).
Jefferson's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 11-5. As for Windsor, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.
Jefferson came up short against Windsor when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 51-43. Can Jefferson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
