Softball Recap: Central Takes a Loss

Central dropped their record down to 4-5 on Monday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Fort Knox Eagles, falling 14-4. The Yellow Jackets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

As for Fort Knox, their record now sits at 5-20-1. Their offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last three games.

For Fort Knox's part, Nia Aldana was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Aldana was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Fort Knox got a massive performance out of Madisyn Schwemle, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases Schwemle has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Layna Morgan, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Looking ahead, Central is taking a road trip to challenge Butler at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fort Knox, they will host Bardstown at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
