The Fond du Lac Cardinals are taking a road trip to challenge the Appleton West Terrors at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fond du Lac is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
Fond du Lac took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They came out on top against Campbellsport by a score of 13-10. The high-scoring effort was just what the Cardinals needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.
Greyson Wenger was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Wenger was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two runs.

In other batting news, Keyton Kilian and Sam Amadon did most of the damage at the plate: Kilian went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Amadon went 2-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. Kilian is becoming a predictor of Fond du Lac's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 2-3 when he doesn't). Hudson Burg was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Appleton West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell 4-0 to Appleton East. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Terrors were not able to get on the board.
Appleton West also got a good showing from Beau Brown, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Brown has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.
Fond du Lac is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Appleton West, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
Fond du Lac beat Appleton West 6-1 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Cardinals repeat their success, or do the Terrors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
