After both having extra time off, the NorthPoint Christian Academy NightHawks and the Westminster Catawba Christian Indians will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
NorthPoint Christian Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Covenant Classical get on the board and left with a 20-0 win last Tuesday. The victory was familiar territory for the NightHawks, who have now won five matchups in a row.
Max Porter and Andrew Badolato were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Porter tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Badolato tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (two). At bat, Porter went 2-for-4 with three runs and three RBI, while Badolato went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, NorthPoint Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Micah Enriquez, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those three hits gave Enriquez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Reagan Price, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
NorthPoint Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Westminster Catawba Christian came into Wednesday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They put the hurt on Gaston Day with a sharp 10-0 win last Wednesday. The Indians not only won last Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 3rd (when they won 20-0).
Brayden Giesler was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and two doubles. Westminster Catawba Christian is 2-1 when Giesler posts two or more stolen bases, but 3-9 otherwise. Trey Goforth was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.
NorthPoint Christian Academy pushed their record up to 9-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Westminster Catawba Christian, the victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 5-10.
