The West Point Pointers will head out to take on the Bruton Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
West Point took a loss when they played away from home back in March, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They never let King & Queen Central get on the board and left with a 17-0 win. The Pointers haven't had any issues with the Royal Tigers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Terrah Henrich tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024.
At the plate, West Point got a massive performance out of Delaney White, who scored four runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. White is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games she's played dating back to last season. Maggie Winter also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
West Point hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bruton). Everything went their way against Northampton last Thursday as they made off with a 36-11 win. With that victory, the Panthers brought their scoring average up to 9.4 runs per game.
Taylor Mass made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Mass was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Summer Hannam was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, six RBI, and four runs. Another player making a difference was TK Wynkoop, who scored six runs and stole seven bases while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances.
West Point pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Bruton, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-6.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. West Point has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .524. However, it's not like Bruton struggles in that department as they've averaged .525. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
West Point came out on top in a nail-biter against Bruton when the teams last played back in May of 2019, sneaking past 12-11. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pointers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
