The Salmen Spartans will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Loranger Wolves at 6:00 p.m. Salmen will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
After soaring to a 33-point win in their last game, Salmen came back down to earth on Tuesday. They fell just short of Archbishop Hannan by a score of 54-52. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Salmen has suffered yet this season.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Akayla Mcmooain, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Janelle Bell, who scored six points along with two steals.
Even though they lost, Salmen smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Loranger scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took down Pearl River 62-47. The victory was some much needed relief for Loranger as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Salmen has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season. As for Loranger, their win bumped their record up to 5-14.
