The Thayer Central Titans pushed their score all the way to 63 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 74-63 to Hanover. Thayer Central lost against Hanover in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 39-28 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Thayer Central lost, one person who can't be blamed is Sam Souerdyke. Despite the final result, he scored 36 points along with 9 rebounds and 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Will Heitmann, who scored 15 points.
Thayer Central's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Hanover, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Thayer Central will take on Diller-Odell at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Diller-Odell focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday. As for Hanover, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against St. Xavier at 7:00 p.m.
