After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cashion, Newkirk was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over the Nowata Ironmen. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by six runs or more this season.

Newkirk has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. Nowata is on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Newkirk beat Nowata by a score of 11-2 later that day.
