Madison has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Silver Creek Dragons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Madison will be strutting in after a win while Silver Creek will be coming in after a defeat.
Madison posted their biggest win yet this season on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 62-40 margin over New Washington.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Madison to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mason Davis, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Davis pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Damon Harden, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Silver Creek pushed their score all the way to 67 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 72-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of New Albany. While losing is never fun, Silver Creek can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while New Albany is ranked 22nd).
Despite the defeat, Silver Creek got a solid performance out of Kasen Daeger, who scored 27 points. Daeger hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Brandon Hunter was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven assists.
Madison's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-9. As for Silver Creek, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season.
Madison might still be hurting after the 63-39 defeat they got from Silver Creek in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Can Madison avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
