Sierra recap September 10, 2013
Brendan Callen and Leroy Cloud provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Orange Lutheran. The connection went for 65 yards, the longest such play in Sierra this season.
Damien fell to the Lancers 36-10 last week, the largest margin of any game. Cloud was a bright spot for the Spartans, as he ran for 87 yards and caught 5 passes for 98 yards in the defeat.
Charter Oak's dynamic duo of Kory Brown and Donavin Washington proved tough for Roosevelt to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Brown threw for 495 yards and 5 touchdowns and Washington had 215 yards receiving. Dareon Nash helped Charter Oak's passing attack out by catching 8 balls for 112 yards.
The Chargers' dynamic duo of Brown and Washington proved to be unstoppable against the Mustangs, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Washington was the best receiver in the league this week as Charter Oak lost to Roosevelt.
Cameron Gray was the best running back in the league this week. In 12 carries, he ran for 115 yards as Claremont lost to Tony Barile's team. Teammate Connor Williams added to the ground attack by rushing for 63 yards.
He went 39-59 with 2 interceptions.
Brown put up the best numbers through the air as the Chargers fell to the Mustangs.
Washington had a great week catching the football as Charter Oak fell to Roosevelt.
Leading Sierra in both passing and receiving yards, the Chargers' Brown and Washington have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-1 quarterback Brown has thrown for 495 yards this season, while Washington has 11 catches for 215 yards. Lawon Carney from South Hills leads the league in rushing with 240 yards.
Charter Oak led the league in scoring this week after putting up 48 points on Charter Oak.
