Leah Drake spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered seven earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up 11 Ks.
On the hitting side, Tatum Kruetz was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with five RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was her first of the season. Anna Breen was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.
Ursuline Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They are 5-2 when they post 11 or more hits.
Legacy Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 16-9-1. As for Ursuline Academy, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Legacy Christian Academy hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Ursuline Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.8 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Legacy Christian Academy beat Ursuline Academy 12-9 when the teams last played back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
