Everything went their way against Southaven on Tuesday as Lewisburg made off with a 53-32 win. Given Lewisburg's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while Southaven is ranked 174th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lewisburg's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Allie Carroll, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Izzy Goss, who scored 11 points.
Lewisburg's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-6. As for Southaven, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lewisburg will take on Oxford at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Southaven, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Hernando at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. One thing working in Hernando's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests.
